Gift basket

Hello again.

(Hold on to your hats, this is a looong post ;)

Today I would like to share a basket I made up for our schools silent auction.  Every year we have a fun fair and each class picks a theme to create a basket that gets put up for auction.  The money goes towards paying for performances and purchasing technological items the school needs etc....
This year one of the baskets theme was gift cards.  Since I am responsible for the baskets, I decided to add greeting cards. Most people give gift cards as gifts and they are usually accompanied by a greeting card.  Also, I wanted to add to the value of the basket, in the hopes of it fetching more money ;) (which, I am happy to say, it did!)

Anyway, enough rambling....here is the basket:

There were $100 worth of gift cards to various stores. Here's a closer look at the cards inside the basket:

For this shaker card I used Peerless water color sheets. I love how transparent yet vibrant these water colors are.  I created the frame with some white woodgrain card stock. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant's "make a wish" set, and is stamped with versafine onyx black.

Here's a look at the inside of the card:

Next up, I have a super cute dino card.

I simply adore this Clearly Besotted "Dino - Mite" set.  They are so much fun to color.  This one was pretty simple. I stamped and masked the dino. Next I inked the background to create the grass and sky with some distress inks. I colored him in with copic markers and stamped the sentiment with versafine onyx black ink.  I popped the panel onto a white card base and added some enamel dots for a pop of color to finish it all off.

My next card uses some flower images from Altenews "Floral Motifs":

First, I stamped and masked the flowers. I colored them in with copic markers. Next I stamped the sentiment and glued the panel onto a piece of charcoal grey card stock which was then popped onto a white card base.  I added some wink of stella shimmer to the flowers for more interest.

Lastly, I have a card that has a bit of a story...

The background for this card was created at a girls crafty play day that we have every couple of months. For this particular date we all had to design a card for everyone to make. The lovely Ardyth designed a gorgeous card with an inked background. Well.... I inked my background, but messed up the front of the card. So I decided to save the inky part and used my lil inkers stitched mats to cut a square. When we were at  Ardyths pllace I saw this sentiment die she had and just loved it, so cut a few for myself to use.  ( I have no idea who it is from. )  I inked it up with versamark ink and then added some wow embossing powder in sliver pearl.  I glued it to the front of the inked panel and attached it to a white base.

Well....that is it from me. If you reached the end....I thank you sincerely ;)
I hope you enjoyed my post for today, and Iam hoping to have more to share tomorrow.
Peace and love.

11 years old!

I can't believe my oldest boy is 11 years old today.  Where does the time go?
I thought I would pop in to share the birthday invitations I made for his party next week.  These were so much fun to make.

As I'm sure you can tell, we are having a hunger games themed party.  I created these in my Silhouette software, and then printed them onto light grey cardstock.  The target and sentiment on the left are from Mama Elephant, and heat embossed with Wow EP in silver pearl.

Thanks for stopping by.

PPP watercolor hop

Good Morning!
Boy it has been ages since my last post.  Not that I have not been making cards. I have been super busy with lots of crafty projects. Hopefully I will share them in the next few days.
But for today I am here to share a card for the Pretty pink Posh watercolor card blog hop.

This card was inspired by this pin I found on Pinterest:

I just loved the colors and contrast of the black and ivory with the bright colors.

I Started by stamping and heat embossing the flowers and border from Atlenews 'Floral motifs' and 'Henna Elements' stamp sets on to Strathmore 140LB watercolor paper.  I used Gansai Tambi watercolor paints to color it all in. Next I ironed off the embossing and stamped my sentiment using black Momento tuxedo black ink. This was then foam mounted on to the background panel. The background uses  MFT's  'Pin stripe' background stamp that is heat embossed onto black card stock with wow silver pearl EP.   To finish this card off I added some rain dots and mounted it onto a Gina k 120LB white card base.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Thanks for stopping by.
Natasha :)
