Robot Earth

I'm Back! With another card for the MFT Card design superstar challenge.

Once again, I need to apologize for the poor quality of the photograph. I really need to insest in a light box or whaever it is that enables one to take photos at night :)

This card was fun to make. I wanted to do something different with the robots. I wanted them to look like they were metal and shiny. (as robots usually are ;) )So I die cut a piece of silver sheet metal that I have had from Quick kutz from years and years ago. :)   I then heat embossed the image ( thanks Emily ;) ) onto the metal die cut with black EP.  I used yellow, red and blue EP to add some color to the little dude. I set him aside and went to work on the earth. I die cut the 'you mean the world to me' centerpiece die from white cardstock and colored it in with copics. Once again I used my trusty wink of stella and glossy accents to give it some magnificent shine and dimension. I die cut the silver circle from from the same metal sheet material as the robot. I added some nail heads to finish it off.  The sentiment is from the same Robot stamp set, and is perfect for the occasion, since this card is going to a sweet little boy whose party my Son is attending on Sunday.

I just love how the wink of stella makes it look like those are stars in the sky. :)

That's it from me. Good luck to all who entered. I look forward to browsing the gallery and being inspired to try some new ideas.

MFT Card Design Superstar

Hi there!

Today I have two cards that I am entering into the MFT Card Design Superstar contest.

First up I have this card:

For this card I randomly stamped the flowers from the Blissful Blooms set and colored them in with Copics. I added some wink of stella to add some shimmer and then cut a stitched circle to add my sentiment which is from the Label Maker Sentiments set. This was stamped using Black versafine ink. I added some gel pen highlights to add more contrast.

Next up I have this card:

For this card I used the the current sketch challenge as my inspiration, as well as the color scheme from the current RIC challenge to get to this.
I started by die cutting the abstract cover die using white card stock. I then used a circle die to cut out a circle.  I colored all the pieces in with copics and added some wink of stella shimmer. I then pieced all the pieces together and adhered them on to a sold circle. I added a layer of glossy accents to give it shine and dimension.  The sentiment was heat embossed with red EP using the labels sentiment set.

I am working on one more card to enter this contest so I might be back later with another card :)

Thanks for stopping by :)

Runway inspired #91

Hola!
So, it's been a little while since I got inky, and I am in one of my slumps  as a result. I decided to try and get the juices flowing by trying my hand at the current Runway Inspired challenge.

So I sat down yesterday and made this card:

For this card I used the MFT abstract cover up die with some PTI colored cardstock in limeade ice and hawaiian shores. The sentiment is from the new LLD Soda pop stamp set. I love how clean it is.

Now, where I don't HATE this one,  I'm not sure I love it. I have recently been VERY inspired by my dear friend Ardyth who in my opinion is the Queen of CAS. So looking at this, it just seemed a bit busy for what I was going for.  I do like parts of it, but I couldn't decide so I went to "the girls" for their opinions. Ardyth threw some ideas at me and then challenged me to make another card.  She also decided to make one too, so here we are.

This is my second attempt at this inspiration photo:

(Please excuse the poor photo, it's late and I have terrible lighting in my Condo.)

I must admit I personally like this one  more. Now, its not as CAS as Ardyth's cards usually are, but it's "me".  If you are as big a fan of Ardyth as I am, you'll notice the square card?  Yeah, I can't make square cards anymore without thinking of Ardyth, it's like her signature style :)

For this one I used the PTI hexagon cover plate and die cut it using white card stock, I colored the hexagons with copic markers and then attached them with foam tape to a 3X3 square. I added some wink of stella and some glossy accents to add some pizzazz! I mounted this to a black square to matt it and popped it onto a white base. The sentiment is the same as the card above and is popped on with foam tape. (LOTS of popping = LOTS of dimension.)
A funny thing about this is, those dark hexagons were actually colored using black and grey, but for some reason the glossy accents changed the color to navy. It looks darker in real life but you can still see a blue tint.

Here is a close up that shows the shine and dimension a bit better:

Well, that's it from me, thanks for stopping by.
Natasha :)
